Oncology Evidence and Practice

I welcome all the national and international participants to the 3rd Annual Surgical Conference
of the Aga Khan University Hospital. We have been able to expand upon last year’s meeting
both in terms of the scale, and the scope. This year’s theme and scientific program are focused
on ‘Surgical Oncology – Evidence & Practice’. Surgical Oncology is now the core theme of
research for the Department of Surgery at the Aga Khan University. A focused meeting such as
this one is the perfect opportunity for experts from around the world to gather, exchange
ideas, and explore the possibilities of advancing research and policy improvements in a
developing country like Pakistan. To allow the participants a substantial hands-on learning
experience, workshops & sectional symposiums on 25 different topics have been organized.
This year we have endorsement from the European Society of Surgical Oncology (ESSO) and the
American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO). The scientific program that has been developed
this year is very exciting and informative.
